Bob - Pyranha Speeder

Bob Danford — Owner of Silver Moon Kayak Company

Bob has paddled some form of non-motorized craft since he was a little wippersnapper. After buying his first kayak he has been hooked ever since.

When he's not kayaking, he's busy farming in the Lower Valley area in beautiful NW Montana. He's often fondly kidded about how he can quickly change from" Farmer Bob" in to "Boater Bob" in a matter of seconds! (overalls and rubber boots to Teva sandals and nylon shorts, basically) Bob brings a lot of skill, strength, wisdom and business sense to Silver Moon Kayak Company. But most of all, Bob's sense of humor and laid back nature puts our customers at ease.

Wearing a multiple of hats in the company, from chief boat washer to guide extraordinaire, to financial backer, you'll often find him building boat racks or repairing broken canoes or out on the water refining his moving water skills. Bob's favorite aspect of kayaking is whitewater and he heads up our Moving Water courses.

Heather - Bookkeeper and Office Manager

Heather also handles a lot of the behind-the-scenes work at Silver Moon, keeping things flowing smoothly. She's got the best phone voice going and has been a great asset to Silver Moon since she came on board.

Heather has two young children, Kaiya and Colton, and one kayak-addict husband named Jamie.

Terri - Shop help and Webmaster

Terri is the new kid on the 'Moonie' Staff, and helps with everything else that needs to be done. You will find her smiling face behind the cash register and keeping things tidy in the retail shop. She also helps by keeping the Silver Moon's website up-to-date.

Terri is a novice paddler and enjoys both whitewater and tour kayaking.

Chance & Chomper - Moonie Mascot and Sidekick

Chance is the 3rd Moonie Mascot, and now he has a poodle/terrier sidekick named Chomper. In this photo, Chance is navigating the Feel Free Moken12 Angler, and Chomper is sitting atop the Feel Free Nomad sit-on-top kayak. Of course, both canines are sporting their doggy pfd's for safety!
