There won't be any uncharted desert islands or Gilligans on this popular tour but you can use your imagination. Mellow, protected and scenic this is the perfect tour for those with limited time or who just want a taste of how fun sea kayaking can be. Based out of Somer's Bay on the north end of Flathead Lake, Montana.

2 hours • 2-4 p.m
$45.00
Fee includes all equipment, basic instruction and guides

Full Day Tours
We have several options for our full day tours. All full day tours will include plenty of paddling time, lots of great scenery, a "knock-your-socks-off" lunch, high quality sea kayaks and equipment, guides, instruction and a FUN experience.

Therriault Landing to Wayfarer's State Park (Bigfork)
A longer paddle for the more hardy, adventuresome soul. This trips begins on the east shore of the Flathead River — the mellow, lazy stretch just above Flathead Lake. After onshore orientation we'll begin our excursion with plenty of opportunities for sightseeing, photography and refining our paddling skills. Several miles down the river we'll take a break and stretch our legs at Kehoe's Agate shop, an elbow on the river's bank at the historic town of Holt. This is a must-see for you rock hounds! After our visit at Kehoe's we'll continue down the river and head east when the river empties into Flathead Lake. From there we'll paddle to Wayfarer's State Park and have a scrumptious and well-earned late picnic lunch. Shortly after lunch and perhaps a dip in the lake our guests will be transported back to their vehicles where we began our journey.

10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
$115
Fee also includes park access and shuttle fees

Finley Point Paddle
Spend the day on the south end of the lake (our favorite part!) paddling amongst the islands. Our trip begins and ends at Finley Point State Park on the southeast shore of Flathead Lake. Very scenic but what trip on Flathead Lake isn't? This trip is 100% dependent on the weather, especially wind conditions, as we have some exposed open water crossings.

10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
$105

Cedar Island
Another Flathead Lake favorite, this paddle starts in a protected bay and continues offshore a few miles where we'll explore some islands and visit the "Painted Rocks," (Indian pictographs) from the unique vantage point of our kayaks. This trip (as can any of our full day trips) will concentrate on improving our skills throughout the day and learning basic safety and rescue guidelines. This is a leisurely paddle with an emphasis on relaxing and having fun on the water!

10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
$95

Half Day Tours
"Condensed versions" of our full day tours, generally taking place in the afternoons, without lunch.

Cedar Island
1 - 4:30 p.m.

$75 per person

We’ll start with an on-shore orientation by Silver Moon Kayak Company to learn basic sea kayak skills. We’ll paddle to Cedar Island, a gem of an island located on the Westside of Flathead Lake. Using binoculars and a telescope, we will identify major constellations and stars along with various nebulae and galaxies. Weather permitting, this trip will include a short side-paddle to the Native American Pictographs, steep cliffs hanging over the lake with beautiful Indian paintings, viewable only by boat. Flathead Lake and Wildhorse Island, Natural History by Sea Kayak

Explore Flathead Lake's beautiful shorelines as we head for a golden beacon on the horizon - Wildhorse Island, an incredible 2,000 acre island that provides habitat for more than 100 species of birds and a world-renowned population of bighorn sheep and mule deer. We'll start with an on-shore orientation to learn the basic sea kayak skills that will allow us to enjoy this low-impact method of travel safely. Then we'll move into an introduction to ecology as we cross the mesmerizing blue waters in a "floating classroom," learning about the water beneath us and the topography around us. As we paddle behind Cromwell Island towards Skeeko Bay (4 miles round trip), we'll examine the incredible geologic activity that created the dips and valleys of the landscape and the island itself. Once we reach the island we'll take short hikes (1- 2 miles with less than 900 feet elevation gain) to several vantage points on the island, delving in to the history and legends the island is famous for, while we scout for the abundant wildlife and watch for soaring bald eagles. You'll feel the magic of the island that has captivated humans for at least two centuries.
